A life-long love of Rod Temperton's music led us to create our first Saturday night music documentary for Radio 2. We interviewed legends including Quincy Jones, George Benson and Patti Austin and of course the man himself. And what do you know it only went and won a Bronze Sony Award.
The judges said it was "An engaging, entertaining and informative story about the musical genius of a relatively unknown British songwriter". This story is told through superb production values, in-depth research and skilled interviewing. A stunning piece of radio and a fascinating insight into one of the most important, yet private, men in modern musical history.” Not bad for a first effort.
This was followed up by another Saturday night documentary to mark the 25th anniversary of the release of "Thriller".
Trevor Nelson told the story of the making of the album, and we wanted to remind people why they loved Michael Jackson. With such amazing music you can't fail to make a great show. We reckon it sounded brill, and so did everyone who contacted us afterwards.
