The National Trust Gardens Podcast

In autumn 2016, Fresh Air partnered with the National Trust to produce the National Trust Gardens Podcast – taking you behind Britain’s hedges. Over three 25-minute episodes, Head Gardener Alan Power learns the stories and secrets of Britain’s most beautiful heritage gardens, from the people who help to look after them.

We start on Alan’s perfectly manicured home turf - Stourhead in Wiltshire – as the seasons change across this 18th century masterpiece. Then north we go, to Croome in Worcestershire – the ‘first and most-favoured child’ of pioneer gardener Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown. And finally to Sissinghurst in Kent – a garden born of romance, society and scandal...

Alongside the three 25-minute episodes, we produced a series of ‘Garden Cuttings’ – 5 minute clippings which focus on teaching the green-fingered amongst you how to recreate National Trust splendour in your own back garden!
